im doing a auto to manual swap in my 98 ls using a 92 ls cable tranny... do i buy the clutch for the 92 tranny or for the 98 motor? yes i know that the clutch really has nothing to do with the motor but im a noob to this and there is really noone that can help me out! also flywheel concerns? which year do i get that for! sorry for the noob question but i am ordering tomorrow and i would like to get the right part anyone help please!!!!! t.i.a

 

you'd honestly be better off putting a hydro tranny in. pedal response and reliability are so much better than with a cable tranny. why are you going with a 92 cable tranny?

as far as the clutch goes, it should be whatever clutch and pressure plate go with the motor.

 

 

yeah really why are you using a cable trans go with a hydro tranny...

 

im sure its a cost issue but as far as serviceability and ease of install, try and get the hydro tranny if you can..save up

 

i already have a the cable tranny... thats why i am asking.. and for those of us who arent ballers this i thought was the best way to go! i know that anythings possible! but i just wondered if anyone had any ideas or if they had done this before!
