Clutch/Flywheel Problems
Hey guys I just installed a F1 stage 1 clutch kit and I had my flywheel resurfaced. I am having a problem when I take off. It feels like the flywheel wasn't even resurfaced? Is there any reason why I would be having this problem? Or do I just need to break the clutch in and it will go away?
Hey fellas what I mean by it doesnt feel like the flywheel was resurfaced is, when I start out in first and let the clutch out the car shakes like a bitch. The flywheel HAS been resurfaced along with a new clutch installed but it feels like the flywheel was not even resurfaced the way the ****er shakes.
you don't have to break in the clutch so that it rides normal, you break in the clutch before you beat the crap out off it.... Did you install a new throw out bearing? did you grease it and install it properly in the throw out fork?
Did you make sure you cleaned off any grease off the fly wheel before you installed the tranny?
And most important, Did you use the Alignment tool to install the clutch to the flywheel when you bolted the pressure plate? And did you tighten/ torque the flywheel and pressure plate in criss cross pattern ?

Oh and from your avitar your car is a 91 integra?
that means you have a Cable Transmission, there is an adjustment ****, Turn it either way and adjust the clutch, i had a 93 and had to adjust the cable clutch cable from time to time or it would shake hard on first

The Ebay F1 Spec clutches typically suck so prepare to replace it in 3 to 5 months. From what your describing the clutch is grabbing off the floor. Did you adjust your clutch cable after you put the new clutch in? If you didn't thats more than likely the problem.

Yea it's a 91 Integra. Yea I used a clutch alignment tool to install the clutch. Bolts were torqued in a criss cross pattern. Also it almost feels like my clutch is not fully engaging either when I'm going down the highway. Like if I punch the gas it does not seem like it is grabbing fully. And my car was quicker before installing this clutch. I ended up busting my TPS when installing the new clutch so could it just be lacking the power because of that? My check engine light is on now too.

almost sure this is your problem, when you turn it, PULL the Cable **** UP, dont break the little plastic Turn Nipple or else **** will turn on its own
I will have to recalibrate it even if I just take another TPS off another B18 and put it on there? And Tha_liks I have been messing with that **** but the ****ing thing just feels like a dog when I floor it. It's just slow just seems like the clutch isn't fully grabbing or something. Then I hit like 4k RPM and it takes right off.
If I get a brand new lightweight flywheel can I reuse my clutch that I just installed on it? I am assuming I can but wasn't sure because the flywheel in it now is ****, causing it to shutter on take off.
