clutch

What kind of power are you making?
you dont need to get a high end performance cluthc if youre not making the power that requires it.
I have an ACT XTSS clutch kit.
Its their extreme pressure plate. I like it a lot.

I have an exedy stage 1 which is actually stiffer than stage 1 and stage 2 of other clutch brands I think, even though it's only a stage 1 for exedy, and I like it... it has no chatter and has a nice firm pedal with nice feedback and grabs good, but it's only good for probably about 220whp. If you're going to turbocharge your car, my brother has an exedy stage 2 that will handle like 350 or 400whp or something like that. It chatters if you let the clutch out slow but you'll learn to let it out quick and hit the gas a little harder when you start out from a stop and it won't chatter. The pedal feels about as stiff as the stage 1 too.

I would be carefull about getting a clutch that is overagressive for your application. A buddy of mine has a stock evo VIII and his clutch went, he got a stage 2 thinking it would be better. It definatly was alot better, best clutch/pressure plate i've ever used on a car. But it totally distroyed his transmission, it grabbed so hard it messed everything up. Just my 2 cents. Next year i'm planning on a motor build and i'll be replacing tranny/clutch interested in hearing about different brands.
that happened to me wit my d series before i payed $1000 for a clutch to be put in then i payed another $1000 2 month laster to get my trans rebuilt

That's how it is.
How much power do you plan to push out on the turbo?
Up to about 400 all you'll really need is a MAX of Stage 3 Exedy.
Just get a Stage 2 ACT or Exedy and it'll hold you fine up to about 300+ WHP.
