chikara header
how good is this header. I don't want to waste all my money on an exhaust so i think i'm only going to have a header with a 2 inch or 2.25 collector with a test pipe and then i'm gonna get a muffler and bring it to the muffler shop and get them to bend the exhaust so i don't have to spend more money for a bolt on one. i know i'll probably lose a couple horses but i'm willing to sacrifice that for the money. so is the hedman chikara header decent cuz i had hedman on my truck before and they never gave me any problems. if i got the uncoated one would it be alright cuz i'm gonna wrap with heat wrap anyway
Don't listen to the bad opinions of it. I'll go ahead and tell you from experience that I know it's a good header. BUT.. the thing is... the standard header that they have is pure crap. You MUST get the torque stepped one. This one has reversion chambers welded in exactly like the comptech design. It makes plenty of power where you need it. Sure, they look horrible but just put some heat wrap around them and you'll be strait. Trust me, the torque stepped Chikara header is the best for your money, beacause you get Comptech like power gains for only 200 dollars.
I disagree, not garbage. yes, it is not the best header out on the market, but it is good for the price. I had the chikara torque-step header on my civic before I sold it for my teg and it was fine. never had any problems with it and it got the job done. So I lost 2 hp and saved $150 instead of getting a dc header. Big deal
Anyone dyno this header? I don't like the 'downpipe balance tube', seems like it would disrupt exhaust flow at higher RPM's. IMO, the steps look too exaggerated and the transitions are not smooth. I guess you get what you pay for right?

Also, yes, it has reversion chambers like the Comptech, but compare the two visually. The Comptech has smooth transitions.

In the end you really get what you pay for. I had the standard header on a SOHC amd I call honestly say it made a good difference. I would race people from a roll with identical setups and would easily pull on them. The craftmanship is not there and it gets very ugly after a while. But for the $119 I paid, I would do it all over again if I had to.
Garbage...why cause the damn primaries are smaller then stock....workman ship sucks..it's rusts....if u wanna waste $150.00, and lose pwr...do it...or else save up for a JDM DC ITR.

the torkstep has proven to be well worth the price from anyone who has owned it on a b18a/b. not the same for the regular model. PLEASE NOTE THE DIFFERENCE. otherwise, dont listen to anyone who hasnt owned one. remember, "opinions are like..", well you know the rest.
