so my check engine light was on at the same time my car was bogging so i thought it maybe my fuel filter/system
was gonna get a code reader or get a check engine light check but i jumped this car at work, i ended up giving him all my juice and my car died
luckily i was right next to autozone so i just took it there to recharge for me
when my car turned back on, the check engine light no longer appears
i dont think it went away, but i have replaced spark plugs and car no longer bogs as much as before, still does from time to time, like no warming up car, or when i drive pass 70
is there still a way for me to check it even though the light is no longer on?

 

forgot to mention i have a 98 ls 5sp

 

When you battery died it reset the ECU and removed the code

You can still have a code with no CEL, use a scan tool and a code might show up as a pending code

 

I had a problem with my LS but it went away when I went LSV. Basicaly car bogged alot, and the codes I got had all something to do with missfires, as far as I remember. The problem I had though was faulty secondary O2 sensor wiring, one of the wires rusted through, don't know why I didn't get a code for that, and a crushed collector so pretty much one of the collectors was like a straw so I figured that caused the missfires, in part.
I had a weird problem where the codes would disappear after I shut the car off... Sometimes they stayed when the CEL came on and sometimes they would wipe, that car was a mind****.
