well my check engine light came on last night so i went to advanced auto to get a diagnostic test and the people there could tell me very little. so if anyone could help me this is the deal.

the code is P1456 and says manfacurer control, auxiliary emission controls.

what does this mean?

EVAP System Leak Detected (Fuel Tank System)

is there something wrong with my fuel tank, pump, or lines? im not to sure and i really dont want to tear into anything to soon.

 

so no one can help me out but everyone helps out the fools that ask what type of exhaust they should get or what headlights are the brightest.

 

what year is your car, if you have a obd2 nonvtec and a sensor/solenoid on the very top of your intake manifold it works with the evap canister below the battery on the firewall. take off the solenoid and clean the part that sticks into the manifold. the evap system just recirculates fuel vapors from the tank back to the intake. i had my ecu chipped and while it was being done i had that cel removed/function removed so i would be running in a open loop
