Alright I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas of what I can do, I got the code and it was 90, something witth the evaporation emissions and there iis a leak detected in the fuel tank , anyone know what I can do to try and fix this problem?

 

try a new gas cap

take it to autozone and have it checked...and its free

yeah certain places offer free inspections

 

hmmm i never even noticed an autozone in my area, i guess i gotta look around now!

 

Did you try putting the cap back on and making sure you clicked it 3-4 times when you closed it? I know of others that have had the same code and they just didn't click the cap enough. Sounds silly but it worked for them.

 

umm do you smell fumes ? Do you have a G3 Teg? Check under the rear seats to makes sure the fuel tank cover is on properly

Not silly at all. Brought up a good point that some people forget. If you don't click the gas cap enough times you will throw a CEL.

Make sure it's closed, reset the ECU and see if you still get the code.

Whats wrong? You cant get a couple drops on ya while you go tighten the gas cap?

IMO its the gas cap as well.

 

i deal w/ this all the time at my shop. i charge people 80 bucks diagnostic to tighten the gas cap and clear the code. they get pissed when they find out but some people have done it 3 times.
