I own a 97 Int. GSR. Recently my check engine light came on...I hooked the car up to see what was wrong and the readout said that it was a VTEC malfunction. Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions?

 

i remember once doing something to my motor and i Unplugged that green plug by the vtec solenoid and the dist. and i forgot to put it on..it had the check engine light on for like 45 mins and i couldnt figure out what was wrong LOL..then i remembered , so if u messed around with anything under the hood..check all ur connections again. good luck.

 

Check your oil.
