My IAB's quite working today should my check engine light be on. I also think it might be the sileniod that is malfuntioning because, they will work one day and the next they want. Or what do yall think it might be.

 

An IAB malfunction will not cause a CEL. Often times the purge fiter is clogged, which makes the IAB unable to release the vacuum when the solenoid is tripped. (Vacuum application closes the IAB at low RPM.)

The filter is located on part 6.

 

well i went out to my car and tryed to find the silinoid but it looked like it was under the IM am i looking in the correct spot.

It is under there. That area is quite tight. Look on the driver's side. Trace the hose from the vacuum actuator to the solenoid.

 

what does it look like and what kinda tool should i use to check it.

 

The filter is about 1/2" in diameter. It simply fits onto the IAB solenoid. Make sure the screen is not clogged.
