Hey guys, i picked up a 2001 GSR w/ 125k miles about 4 days ago..i havnt ran it hard or anything and it is in amazing condition..no signs of any crashes and there was nothing on its records of a crash .. and all of a sudden check engine light came on today?

I have no mods done.

Any suggestions on what I should check to try to solve it before i take it in tomarrow?

That thread will tell you how to get the cel code and what each code is. Until you know what the code is, you can't solve anything.

 

hope its not a lemon. carfax might be your friend on this one. or once you read how to check codes. see what it is throwin at you

 

Check all your fluid levels before you take it in. It's usually an easy fix.

 

A check engine light usually is emissions related so check it for codes or run a scanner on it and see what comes up... my bet an o2 sensor but dont just jump and buy a bunch of parts, diagnose and do some tests first.

 

maybe your o2 sensors?
