You should probably try searching, but you could start w/ an intake, header and exhaust, and so ANOTHER thread is not created. Yes a intake off of ebay is just as good as an AEM one you would buy for 6 times a much, just replace the filter.

Cheap is a relative term. Cheap in terms of how much power you get? (For example, nitrous) Or cheap as in cheap compared to free? (For example, keeping up with maintenance, intake, header, exhaust, cams, suspension, etc)

Intake is going to be the cheapest thing you can buy.

quick things you can do is remove the resonator box of the intake...thatll open the intake to get more air. advance the timing a tad, get a custom exhaust for like 250 and a cheap ebay header.

No such thing as a cheap mod. Do it right, or don't do it at all.

Best bang for buck---> turbo or nos
Even better-----------> weight reduction and practice driving

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like a *****. I know where you're coming from.

Seriously though, if you don't plan on boosting it later on down the road, the best place to start is with a good intake. It will get rid of that restrictive airbox, give you a bit of power, and make your car sound alot more aggressive.

Don't waste your money on cheap products. In the end you're just going to be unhappy with them and end up replacing them which will cost you even more money. I know from experience with my last car

don't forget some good tires, for example my kumos were less than 400 and i get out of the hole a lot better and handle a lot better also, then yeah an intake or save for turbo.

Definitely don't get cheap ****. I also found out from experience.

ebay header - $92 -didn't fit (my car is still open header)
ebay coilovers - $75 - bottom perch is cracking and splitting apart
ebay hi-flow cat - $35 - flange was welded on 15 degrees crooked

If I would have spent the extra cash, my car wouldn't be open header, with a shitty ride quality. Now I gotta go spend over a grand to replace the parts that didn't work. And I have to pay a f*#%ing exhaust ticket. ANOTHER $90!!

theres cheap prices and then theres cheap quality. cheap prices to me are finding koni yellow set for a good price, installing aluminum intake pipe(polished inside by me/with a k&n filter), or removing the resonator boxs that rest that restricts the stock intake. now cheap quality is what you bought....ssac, ebay products, apc....

you could start out with the plans of boosting by getting a turbo exhaust. 3 inches or better catback. that way you get more performance and you're laying the grounds for a turbo upgrade without having to buy a new exhaust later on down the road to support the turbo. And an short ram intake is a little cheaper and may be used with your turbo depending on how much room you have. good luck

I don't know if I would put on a 3'' exhaust until it is time to boost. In the mean time, you would actually be losing power. Better to stick with stock until the time comes.

Could you really use your short ram intake with a turbo setup? -maybe just the air filter...

Yeah, it still drives fine, I just need coilovers like NOW! It's also a bit loud. Your ears ring after driving it and it pisses people off when you get on it near them. VTEC is the loudest I've ever heard! It's cool for the first couple of days you drive it, then it is annoying, especially when you have to turn the radio to almost full volume just to hear it.

Cheap, Fast, Reliable

Pick one and it won't be the others.
