but its soo much easier just bending a little plastic..and u cant see the plastic anyway since its in the speaker panel it self..everything fits right back together fine.

My buddy & I installed a set of 6x9's in the recesses of the decklid of his 92 Civic hatch (with 96 GSR, too bad he sold it...). Sounded good, but thwiring was a bitch to make look clean ...
i installed infinity reference speakers. i didnt want to spend waaay too much $$ because they are jsut rear fills. they sound ok but i will never know because they are only being run off the deck.
these speakers are a TIGHT fit. for some reason it looks ALOT bigger than the original 6.5 i took out. i even had to make new screw holes to make it fit.

It's easy to add two more speakers to the back. I did it on my 94 teg, and here's a pic. It's just about splicing the the speaker wires, and adding two more wires with the connectors, they should come with the speakers you buy depending on which ones you buy. Then you can run the wires along the hatch cover, and cut holes the proper size into the hatch cover.....and your set......you get sound out of six speakers, and it works great even without an amp.
i just installed some RF front componets and RS rear 6.5s. the fronts would not fit unless i made custom brackets to give them some septh. and the rears where a pain in the *** also. i took all the panels off the seats out and find out the 6.5s i got are bigger than the stock 6.5s. i hade to get the dremmel tool out and cut a ton off the plastic brackets that hold them. after that fit right in and sounds great !

Yeah I wouldn't put speakers in the rear deck either, because I take it off sometimes, and it's more eye candy for theives.
I had to make new screw holes for the 6.5" speakers I put in the back, and there was no way I could have done it w/o removing the panels. I just removed the panels and removed the speaker holder bracket, no big deal.

save yourself a lot of grief and time and just take the back panels off. i thought that i could just shove my brand new boston acoustic speakers in the back without taking the paneling off...
after about 5 months of listening to them rattle (since i couldn't get to all the screw holes) and listening to them sound like crap (cuz they were rubbing on something) i just took them out, took the paneling off, and remounted them. they sound MUCH better now and i am incredibly glad that i did. of course, i don't really notice how well they sound too much since i have an amp feeding my bostons in the front, so my speakers in the back are just being run off of my alpine head unit. wooo, i love my "50 x 4" amp that is built in to that head unit...
wouldn't it be nice if that was true...
