CF trunk question
try $500. also, they're only a few pounds lighter than stock, like 5lbs. you see, thin sheets of curvy CF can't take the rigidity needed to be like the stock hatch, so they have to use a lot. better mod would be pay the $275 to buy a scratch-resistant FAL rear window. that would probably save more weight than the CF hatch. don't know how much, though, and if you ask me, probably not enough to justify over $300 shipped. just buy a CF seat. save you 30 pounds and be comfy + SWEET
carbon fiber is the most expensive and damn near useless thing ever to happen to imports. seriously. i love the idea of lightweight material but the savings are so small for so much money. i might, might, get a cf hood if i can find one that weighs less than 15 lbs. save your money man or put it somewhere else in your car. just my opinion.

yes, it will work, and i'm sorry i didn't answer your question in the first place.

Well, if youre into racing(and I mean really racing, be it drag on the strip or SCCA or some other form of amateur or pro racing) carbon fibre is a god send when you absolutely have to save every pound possible.
I have a friend who runs an SA22C RX-7 in SCCA, and he has the car completely stripped. I mean everything is stripped. Every interior piece, every bumper support, everything including the bracing on the hood. If they made carbon fibre parts for SA22C's, it would be worth it for him to get every piece he could. Doors, hood, fenders, everything.
As far as street use? Yeah, it is pretty useless. I mean, IMHO it looks nice sometimes to have a CF hood, but thats about the extent of the need for CF on the street(if you can really call it a need...). I cant really agree that it is useless altogether.

the point i was trying to make is that for the $500 you could do a lot of lightening other than the 3-5pounds off the hatch. you could get side and rear lexan, for example, for $500.

If you are set on getting the cf hatch, you might want to save up and do the the glass at the same time. I think I read a post about a guy getting the glass swapped on to the cf hatch and it was not cheap. Unless you know how to do it or can get it hooked up might as well just swap the glass once.
