Default CEL with no code?? wtf is goin on?

I took my car to Autozone and they gave it a nice tune up (changing belts/fluids ect) and shortly after my CEL came on. I took it back to them and they said that it wasnt throwing a code... basically a "dummy light" Is this common for tegs or do u guys think there is anything wrong? the car runs well and a mechanic i trust showed me that the engine put up some good numbers. Im not exactly sure what to make of this.

i actually have searched with many manyresults that pertain very little to my situation. It is an engine light.. i know becuase i have seen both. i guess waht im basically asking is what could cause a CEL without having it throw a code? doesnt seem very plausible to me but well see
