CEL with no code...
Car recently got a CEL, when it did it starting running like crap, no power at all, I can smell the fuel burning. When I checked the code, it didnt throw any. I'm thinking its the ECU...any ideas?
I say this because I bought an ECU from someone on HT that was supposedly virgin p28. When I got it, it was chipped with cheap parts, cold dull welds, and an overall shitty job. My tuner didnt even think it was going to work it was so bad. Ive had it working OK for about a month, but now this. Do you think im entitled to a refund if the seller is willing?

-sigh- bad ECU...i had the same problem...
I had my ECU stolen out of my car a little under a year ago and ended up going to a junk yard to get a new one. The one I got looked a little fucked with...but I didn't care...just needed to get to work and back. As soon as I put it in I threw a cel that like you, didn't have a code.
After awhile I started to smell fuel like I was running rich, my car never wanted to start cold and stay running and had various other idle problems (jumping idle things like that)
Ended up getting a virgin ECU on ebay, much happier. everything works and as soon as I put the new one in, no cel.
