Icon2 CEL code 4

alright i have a CEL for code 4. im running an obd1 ecu which does not read code 54 which is the CKF sensor so dont get them confused. but people have been saying its my distributor and so i slapped on my brothers dizzy and code 4 came up again. any ideas?

My setup:
b18c1 block bored to 81.5mm with usdm itr pistons.
stock gsr head with 00 ITR cams
Victor X IM with ITR TB.
JDM ITR 4-1 header
00 b16 tranny
chipped p28 w/itr basemap

i was throwing the same code and i also had to replace my dizzy. it fixed my problem though so good luck man i hate this code.make sure your connectors are plugged in good on the dizzy harness

yea i swapped dizzies and still no luck so im switching out injectors to see if thats the cause. a friend of mines did the same. swapped out injectors and it was good

unplug the ecu and measure the resistance between b15 and b16 there should be between 350 to 700 ohms. you may have a short to ground or an open wire. Since you tried a good dizzy and had the same code. Or try your bros ecu You could also put you dizzy on your bros car and see if it sets the code on his car.

I assume you pulled the fuse to reset the ECU after you replaced the dizzy??

If you still have your brother's in, try that and check again. Then check the ECU if you haven't already. I hope it's that simple.

i always unplug the battery while messing with any harness connectors so yea the ecu was reset after installing my bros dizzy...

it was my harness..took it out and inspected it. one of the wires going to my distributor had a cut in it with a few broken wires, so i just cut the piece off and welded a new wire to it.
