Default CEL 67 catalyst inefficiency

My 98 ls is stock, does any one know if this engine code will revert the car to run in safe mode. In other words is this cel going to retard the timing, change the fuel maps, ect.

Also has anyone found a way to fix this code. Is there a way to test O2 sensors(with a multimeter)?

I threw this code before when I had a free-flow cat on my car, but with stock cat I never threw it.... However, when my car threw it, it did not go into safety mode.... Sounds like maybe you have a bad 02 sensor as opposed to a bad cat... HTH...
