Default Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold?

i checked da ECU with the paperclip trick thingy.... and i got 67 which is "Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold" what is that suppose to mean? and how do i fix it? major threat to my... baby?

it means ur cat is bad. replace is with a carsound cat get more performance and no cel. or you can buy a test pipe and theres a trick you can do so you dont have a cel. but if your cat is bad its only hurting ur cars performace and needs to be replaced

what kinda "trick" if i were to get a test pipe? in terms to performence and airflow...... is a test pipe or a cat better?

well i took the cat off like 4 months ago ,and the check engine light yust turn on and its the same code 67, what could the problem be, the back sensor?? prob??

the second sensor is trying to detect a mixture altered by the cat. if you have a test pipe or no cat, then the sensors are getting virtually the same reading. if you pull the second sensor out of the cat and put it somewhere else, it will probably not throw the code since it won't be reading the same as the first sensor.

the link above to the s2k forum accomplishes nearly the same thing, but it still looks like the sensor is in place.
