Most of us don't live in the Socialist Republic of California, so we simply don't care. I also don't carry around a spoon to feed people. It is not difficult to search the site.

I'm in Cali, so I'll tell you my experiences.

Yes, a catback SHOULD be legal. However, the cops can and will pull you over depending on the type of exhaust system you have.

If you have an n1 style


chances are, you'll still get pulled over. Now, if you're going to bring the decibel into play then that won't really work. the new law states that the cop can pull you over and site you in his discretion. Yes, meaning a cop can use his own judgement without using a decibel meter and say your exhaust is too loud when it's in fact under the 92DB level.

The exhaust you should get should be like this.


My friends and I run these type of mufflers and the cops have never given us any trouble. Mind you, we don't speed nor drive like jackasses.

As for your intake manifold, if you really really must get one then I suggest the first gen skunk2 manifold, because it really looks stock.



Don't quote me on this, but from what I've heard, the second gen manifold is CARB legal and approved for the GSR. That's the one I have and I've never had any problems with it since it came with a CARB sticker.

He didn't ask what time it was, THAT would be a stupid question. Asking what the hell is CARB legal is a legit question.
