Car stop problem, need help!

Car start problem, need help!
my b16 doesn't start anymore after i took out the distributor for a look. When i plug it back in, the car still cranks but at a higher pitch. The distributor still works when i plug it into my friends car. My friend says the problem may be that my motor has no compression. the car was working earlier today 
Any help is appreciated
