yesterday driving home from work i'm doing about 80 on the thruway when the car suddenly died. No idea why. I pushed the clutch in and started it back up. I haven't had any other problem in the 50 miles since then.

Just thought that was very strange......no weird noises or anything

 

hmmm odd indeed.... might be something with ur electrical system ( distrib, plugs, etc)

new cap and rotor

are you asking or did u just change them ??? sorry not much sleep early class .. if yes u did them already try checking them over to see if a plug wire may have come loose

just put in new cap, rotor and plugs
everything is tight
same resistance in all the wires with respect to length

hmmm i'm also lost maybe alternator because you said you were going all of a sudden stopped ( as if the alt stopped producing ) hmmm very odd

 

Maybe it's the ignition control module or ignition coil starting to go out?

 

maybe its just spontaneous and there is no REAL reason, kinda like one of the myteries of life! :D
