It's a good idea to hide your face plate when you leave your car. Maybe it wasn't a removable face plate, but I wouldn't buy a cd player with out that feature. Also alarms don't do much these days how often when you hear one do you go looking for thieves. Probably not too often.

You have to be really careful these days with people being laid off everyday now; they are getting really desperate looking for easy ways to make quick cash. Unfortunately you can’t have nice things anymore with out people taking advantage of your hard earned money. I had both my cars broken into. The first one they had gotten away with about 1,000$ worth of stuff and the second time they got away with nothing. My advice, if you’re out with the girl put your face plate in her pierce. Or find a good hiding place in your car for it, don’t put it in the glove compartment or center counsel that is the first place they will look. No thieve is going to steal a cd player with out the face because they know it’s worth nothing.

chill out man, I understand how upset you are...i've had my **** jacked...but plenty of people pull insurance fraud on integras...cause really, would it be unlikely that our **** gets jacked?

he's only pointing out the fact that you say it was bolted to the chassis [how...by the way....mine just sits in there and you can pull it out]

no scratches, and you say they did a real clean job....now, if you were jackin someones ****....would you care to be careful and leave their interior nice?

just look at where hes comin from

sorry for your loss. At least everything else was there and it was a "clean" theft.

i'd also recommend to always take your head unit out. yeah you get lazy but all it takes is once and it can be gone. lock your glove box too. just for kicks.

did they break in by breaking the glass? I think a 2 way transmitter alarm MAY have helped but not sure as I don't know how they work in malls. You could have made it in 10 min I think but I dunno if you'd want to meet your thieves. I hope you didn't have door locks because people can just unlock them through from what I hear.

Anyway, take your plate next time. unfortunately it was a $400 lesson.

Thieves too my wife's face plate but were stupid enough not to take the head unit. I put the regular stock head unit on there now. I don't think anyone wants a radio with no CD player

-aoib0t, who knows thieves will get it

Chill the **** out. No, that doesn't mean that he has done that ****. It just means that the insurance guy will probably look at you funny when he see's that your interior is all pretty and nice around the dash where the radio was. As in no evidence that it was stolen.

Sorry for your loss man. **** thieves

Get a pager alarm, so that next time you will be alerted, and you can come out and break thier Fu@#ing legs.

Im sorry to say but...No thief takes his risk just to jack a radio in a parking lot, no matter what brand and model it is...Maybe in a car thats not worth in the streets. But an Integra..theyll take ur whole car....Unless he's retarded...Sounds Fishy Common, u expect us to believe they didnt take ur car having a jdm front end???? Whats more xpensive...and how u know it took em like ten minutes to take the radio....U timed urself to see how much time it took u to take it off?????????

they jacked my wife's face plate her sushi knives, my backpack, there was no alarm, but who wanted to steal a mitsubishi mirage? This was in a parking lot at the gym.

thieves either did not think they had enough time to steal his car or thought $400 headunit will be a quick sell. Did they dust for fingerprints? JUST in case....

and if you go there again... they can take more stuff. or talk to their friends and say "yeah, so and so is here, let's take thier car"

nevertheless, you better layer up your security. Thieves can be stupid. some will just take the GSR rims because they are the worth something to them. the thief may have been an amateur in the "i can steal the whole car" department.

Think of this as a $400 warning. Gotta love our cars
-aoib0t, who thinks TeggyRacer613 better layer up.

well my car was auto locked. they got in through jimming through my passenger door. they scratched the paint too, which i just got my car painted 8 months ago. and i said it had to take at least 10 mins. with the door and unbolting my ****.

two way paging alarm is probably something i will go for that is if i decide to keep my car.

**** thieves....... i really hope they die a horrible slow death. and make it painful.

These guys have a point, I just had one of these installed on my car. The local Audio Xcellence here charges $120 for a basic alarm install, $175 for all of the features, and $250 to include remote start. That's not too bad for price of the alarm. They even do door actuators for $65 a door (parts and labor).

I reccomend this type of alarm a lot, because it makes it that much easier to catch thieves. Mine even has a few extra like I can check the status of the car, so that I can see if I am in range of the transmitter. If not, I just check the status when I am and it will tell me if something happened. I'm hoping this helps more than anything, and I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

I'm with these guys though, spend the money, and you probably won't regret it. Not to mention if you buy brand new, some alarm companies offer a certain amount of money if your car gets stolen and you can prove the alarm didn't stop it. Oh yea, just for reference, the one I have is an Audiovox APS 996.

Edit:
Damn... I messed up the quotes...

consider yourself lucky, I learned the hard way. A theif took a crowbar to the trunk and then they took a crowbar to the door handle but couldnt get in. Finally they smashed the window in to steal my old audiovox tape deck that didnt even play tapes without eating them. Stereo was worth no more than $5 or $10. My teg is 100% stock now, I'd be really paranoid to be driving around with a JDM front, it's just not worth it in my opinion. to thieves

not every thief has a place to store a whole car. a stereo isnt hard to hide. not every thief is in it big time with warehouses to store cars while they part it out. also why would he post here if its insurance fraud? it makes no sense. hes obviously pissed cause someone stole it. i cant believe that someone would bring that up.

Sorry to hear that. I also feel your pain. My g2 was broken into. Down hear they love Hondas/Acuras. They will steal anything that they can. I was lucky to have taken off my blades because I was certain that someone was eyeing them. So I did take them off and not to long after they broke into my car anyways. For God sake, who would want to break into an old stock g2 that had nothing! Absolutley NOTHING! I had an old CD deck, but they didn't take it. Some theives are really morons. Now I'm worried about my g3 on the streets. I haven't gotten the chance to install an alarm yet. I'm getting the Clifford Matrix. Remember guys, always have latch sensor on your hood and NEVER put in on valet mode. I have blades right now in my house and I don't even want them on. I almost got car jacked not too long either. ******* try to drag me out of car. They probaly didn't know how to drive stick and that's why they backed off. I'm prepared now. I got two pipes on each side of the front seats. I'm ready bitches! Bring it on...
