car bogs down in the rain
My car bogged down a little when it was raining the other day. It happened previously when it was also raining. It felt like I was running out of gas. It didn't die out. It would sputter for a sec then go back to normal. Maybe the injectors got clogged? I thought it was water getting into the intake but I checked it and it was dry. I also thought it was the exhaust pipe full of water b/c it happens right after I start my car and drive. Then it goes away so maybe the water got kicked out. Anybody else have this happen? It has only happened twice but both times were in heavy, heavy rain. thanks.
I concur, I had this hapen on my civic as well as my crx, mostly after I washed the engine bay in my crx without covering the dizzzzzy first
. Probably just condensation getting in like he said, spray some wd-40!!

if you have a cold air intake with a cone filter you could be sucking in water. i reccommend an aem water trap my buddy has one on his civic and it works great. i dont drive my integra in the rain or i would have one as well. for a measely $40 you could save yourself alot of headaches.

Worthless post, and driving in the rain wont suck water into your intake. the filter has to be SUBMERGED for the water trap to have any function.
Back OT, like everyone else said, dizzy.

it has to be submerged for the intake to suck water in, but if it is partially underwater, you will then be sucking air in through whatever part of the intake is not submerged. your engine might be struggling to bring air in. it's possible you are narrowly escaping hydrolocking your engine....this is assuming that you are driving through puddles
I dont have a CAI. I am not driving in deep puddles I dont think. The filter is inside the stock airbox without the air horn. That was the first thing I checked, but the filter and the inside of the box was dry as a bell. I still dont see how water can get into your distributor.
