Hey everyone, I find myself on H-T more often now due to the small problem I have. I had a major seizure on 6/20/04 and I had my driving privileges taken away from me by the doctor. I have been doing all sorts of test and studies to see what the problem is. My life revolves around cars and this has been the worst month of my entire life. I have been told that I may have epilepsy and I may not be able to drive for a long time. The doctors are afraid I may have a seizure and crash of worse kill someone else. I can understand but I HATE this all.

I find the only way that I can control my extreme desire to drive is to talk and read all of the posts here on H-T. I figure this is a good time to tear down the old teg and do some work I have been putting off. Thanks for all your help on my posts and all the fun reading material I now have to read. Yeah, thanks man I don't know whats worse not driving or having epilepsy? Just kidding. But still.......

don't worry man there was a guy I knew back in HS who was epileptic. He took medicine for it and he was TOTALLY fine, and he drove. The meds make you gain weight, but if you work out it won't be all that bad, just makes you look more jacked, haha. And besides, you may not even have epilepsy, there are other more temporary causes for a seizure. I also know people who have had seizures from using drugs like mushrooms and marijuana, so if you've been trying any of that you may want to look into it as a cause.

I hope you get better, but please be careful when you get your priviledges back. There are a lot of sad stories of people dying and hurting other people because they were epileptic and didn't take their medicine.

Funny one treatment for epilepsy is marijuana. No I have not be doing drugs, I had an EEG done and they said it showed normal activity but there was some sharp eleictical activity on the left side of my brain. They think that I may have underlying epilepsy.

 

that sux.....sorry to hear about that..if it makes your feel any better, my mom just told me she has 2 brain tumors
i work for an insur company and this guy was calling in a claim bc he had a seizure while he was driving and got into an accident.......he said hed never had one before and the guy is like 35yrs old and he was saying something about if you just have one in your life, they label you an epileptic.....then he was saying something about him losing his lisc too and that if you dont have a seizure for 3 yrs then you could drive again.

When it comes to your brain you have to take extra care of the situation.. Take care of yourself and Im sure you'll be fine..

My dad takes that, and has been taking it for many years. He feels fine, and when he doesn't, the doctor adjusts the dosage and he's fine again.

Check with your doctor if you're not feeling well on it.

But definitely keep your head up, you're young and with all the medicine and technology out there now, you'll be driving in no time. Hey, now you can save money slowly and slowly mod your car without worring about downtime.

i had the same **** happen to me my mom found me passed out on my driveway. i was working on my car and and fell out of it. they said i had a sezuire. i couldnt drive for 6 damn months if friggin killed me!! but i havent had any since so its all good now. Good luck to you man i feel your pain

 

Hey guys, what’s happening? Thanks for all the support and best wishes. This unfortunately was not my first major seizure; I had one about a year ago. I also have tremors in my hands every once in a while. This is why they think I have epilepsy; also the EEG showed it a little.

I do plan on using this time to replace and add a few things to my Integra. I think I may change the suspension bushings, upgrade my brakes, lets see, what else……… My list goes on forever.

I really hate that I may have to take medicine for a long time. I read the post about the guy who crashed his car from having a seizure. I hope that I will never have to deal with that or killing someone. I do plan on taking it slow and finding the best possible means to control my seizures.
