which would be better for a gsr engine ctr cams or after market performance cams

Anything bigger than the ITR/CTR/Skunk Stg1 then ur gonna need to go with an upgraded valvetrain to be able to make any power with the bigger cams. I would suggest Portflow valvetrain, I went with them for my motor and I've had great results.
