Cam decision
i have a 93 da with the b18a1 in it, i built it with b16a2 pistons to raise the compressoion to around 10.8:1, everything else is stock, i am however get a basemap to install. my question is i race my car on an oval dirt track and would like to know the cam regrinds are right for me, i am looking at delta 272's but not sure, i want something with will offer good power 4500 rpm and up since thats the band im always at. only thing is is that i dont know how much clearance i will have, the head is sock and not milled. any opinions and suggestions will be appreciated!
huh? are you looking for big power? Crower 403's. Crower 404's I hear make great power, but you need to rev a bit higher. Use both of those cams and you will need a valve train upgrade for sure.
if you plan on doing work to the head, them crowers r monsters. you can get away with using the skunk ones with a stock head as long as its tuner series
only problem is i will not benefit higher rpm power only because im on a dirt track i wont have a chance to exceed 7200 rpm anyways, thats why i need to put the power i can in the rpm range i have. i called delta they said 282 grind would be good.
The skunks scream after 3k
