Default c.r.

Anybody know exactly why the JDM B18C has c.r. of 10.6 and the USDM B18C1's c.r. is 10.0?

Sorry, this should be in the Integra section....forgot where I was. Moderator...do the honours please.

here's my theory: it could be do to the higher octane fuel japan uses and lower sulfur content that they can bump the compression up from 10.2 to 10.6 and maximize the output without changing the camshaft, intake manifold, cylinder head design, etc...

That probably also has something to do with it, but the easy answer is that the pistons are different. JDM P72 pistons have a slightly higher dome than the US P72 pistons (still lower compression compared to ITR pistons). I have a spare set of JDM P72 pistons that we pulled out of a customer's motor.... if I get a US P72 piston, I'll mic them, but I've already read about this on the Honda.jp website a few years back.
