I think my a/c compressor needs to be reservice...Just wonderin how much would it usually cost and where can I get it done?. I"m in the bay area. I was also wonder would a p28 in a 2000 gsr chassis effect any of that. some of my lights in my climate control blew... does anyone have a diagram of how to take out the dash? thx

 

when the a/c compressor was gone on my civic it cost around $500 i think (not for sure). I got it done at metric motorsport in pinole . The owner is koo as hell, and will tell you exactly what you need done to your car. Also if it sounds as if you have a supercharger (w/o having one), then it probably is the a/c compressor or compressor clutch or both. P.S. - keep good protection on that GSR looks nice. My civic was stolen in alameda (fu*k theives).

 

damn...that suck *** to have your car stolen....sorry to hear that.....But damn...$500 to reservice one..that's hella money...haha...is there any way to test if it's working first or not....btw thx for the complement..

well if your car makes a loud whining sound like it has a supercharger (w/o having one) even when the a/c is off.. then it probably is messed. But i think i needed more than just the compressor when i got mine fixed.. and i don't remember how much it was im just guessing when i say $500.

 

well...my car is not makin any noise...it's pretty quite...besides a clickin maybe a bent valve...but nothin like a widin noise...yah...I might just get my friends' a/c compressor and see hwo that goes..30 bucks...hehe...

 

why not just buy a good used one?

and that 'whinning noise', never heard that before, i know when your bearings are gone they make a whinning noise.

 

well on my civic it made a whinning noise when the a/c was gone and after it was fixed noise was gone.

 

yah...i was thinking about buying new/ used one....but the thing is mines is pretty new still i only got 61k on it....i kind of dont believe the a/c will go out so quickly.

 

so does anyone in the bay area know how much to charge or reservice the a/c system?
