Default Brake question

I just finished replacing my brakes pads for the first time. The car is a 2000 gs-r with 90000 miles with the original rotors. Now everytime I am driving at high speeds such as 80 and above the car starts to make a loud noise which sounds like it is coming from the brakes. Does anyone know what this could mean? Please help I dont want my brakes to fail.

Take it apart again and check that the shims and pads are in correctly.

You mean when you're driving at high speeds and BRAKE it makes a loud noise...or whenever you're above 80? Did you have the rotors turned, like a good doobie? Does the car feel any different through the steering wheel? Loose wheel lugs?

What kind of noise? Squeal, vibration, grind? Once it happened to me (was around 40 or so it started), turns out I had bent the dust shield somehow.

I did not resurface the rotors they are the originals with 90000 miles on them. It might be the brake shield thing. Im going to check that this weekend and if it is not that I guess I will get myself a set of Brembo blank rotors. Hopefully that will take care of the noise. Oh and it is not when I press the brake at 80 it is when driving 80mph and above. Actually when I do press the brake at 80 the noise tends to go away a little.
