Brake question
just did a search, I have a 92 DA. The problem being that the rear passenger side brake was seized, I have replaced pads and rotor, but I can not get the piston to fully retract, is there any way of freeing up the actual pistion without having to replace the entire assembly?? its only for the one brake, and I need it working to get the car to pass inspection. ABS has also been removed, I have no leaks anywhere and the other brakes are all in working order.
any suggestions would help,
thanks,

I don't have a '92, but on the many of the Honda/Acura cars, there are slots in the leading edge of the piston in the rear brake calipers. You need to use those slots (either with a special tool or anything that fits, like a small screwdriver) to turn the piston while pushing in, to get it to retract.
I put the new rotors on, I was having problems turning the brake piston back into the caliper, so I put the old pads back on so the caliper would clear, then I pumped the brakes to see if the piston would free up, it did move a bit, but when I go to turn it (piston) to retract it to clear the new pads, the piston wants nothing to do with it.. are there any tricks or anything I can do to free it up or am I going to have to replace the whole assembly??

The same thing happened to me on my DC, you need to spray some penetrating oil in there to loosen it up. Wait five to ten minutes then get a file, or something that will fit between the slots and turn it. It is hard , but it is manageable. Make sure you bleed your brakes after this to get any oil and contaminants out.
any oil in particular? I dont want to use wd-40 or anything along thoes lines because I didnt want it to wreck the rubber boot-seal..
