brake problems....
hey so im changing front brake pads today and as i was taking off the lower bolt on the caliper the bolt snapped in half leaving the bolt still in there. but then the whole screw thingy came out of the little boot thing, is that normal? so i try drilling a hole in it and extracting it out but the extractor bolt broke off inside the hole of the main bolt. ****. can i just buy a new bolt thingy that houses the screw connecting to the caliper? im trying to explain this the best i can, i just dont know if i need a complete new caliper
You can but the pin and the bolt. It is most likely a dealer only item. Check here:

They have diagrams and part numbers.

It would be the caliper carrier. And you must been doing something wrong to break an extractor. I've used one hundreds of times with no prob.

I may be able to get one for you tomorrow. Just pay shipping and whatever he wants for it if you can wait. Try a salvage yard unless you need it new
