brake problem
this has been bothering me and i haven't found the time to post it until now. my brakes' been real weird ever since i switched to speed bleeders so today i decided to bleed the whole system again. so i went ahead with the factory bleeding routine and i gave about 10+ pumps on each caliper filling brake fluid in between. after i finished the car feels a little different but overall it was the same:
when i brake, sometimes i hear squeeking sounds from the front and sometimes even feel the ABS kick in, even though it wasn't a hard brake at all.
what i'm guessing is the front calipers are lockin up too early too hard and the rears are doing the opposit.
when i bled my brakes for the first time i also added on a master cylinder brace. could this be the cause of the front calipers lockin up so fast?
i'm sort of stumped...but i'll try removing the brace to see how it feels.
i'll also try to bleed it the old fashion way with two people...see how that goes...
i lost count of the amount of times i've bled the whole system...
guess i just wanted to vent...any thoughts or opinion is welcome.
thanks

i got the same problem!!!! i gotta 95 and my brakes are acting hella stupid..
1.my brake pedal goes alllll the way down to the floor and car still doesnt stop and its not a drop to the floor it goes down slowly almost like normal speed but it goes down all the way!
2. my abs kicks in when i touch the floor
3. and i bled my brakes the right way
is it my Master cylinder i have to change or my abs unit?

SSBP DC2...
My suggestion is to keep bleeding. I've never gotten away with as few as 10 strokes, if air has gotten in the lines. Especially the rears, I've sometimes put a pint of fluid thru each side. It seems like the bubbles stop quickly, then I keep going & there's a bunch more bubbles that only come out after a lot of fluid pumps thru.
DCx2xNV...
Yours sounds like a bad master cylinder. When this happened to me, the ABS didn't do anything when the pedal reached the floor, but I think you need a new MC first. Then deal with the ABS. The ABS pump & accumulator might only need to be bled.
Bleeding sequence should be RR - LF - LR - RF - then ABS.

thanks jim,
yeah i tried everything...i used up about 4 of those quart bottles already (not all at once of course) and still no good results. tonight i'll give it another shot and i'll pump about a pint from each caliper and see how that goes. thanks

Try each wheel all at once. Here's what I'm thinking...
You bleed one rear wheel, you think it's done, but there's some air bubbles that only made it halfway to the back of the car. Then you move on to the next wheel. Now there's plenty of time for those bubbles to move back towards the master cylinder, so when you come back to that wheel, it's like starting all over again.
