Default brake problem?

im like freaked out today....while driving 45mph and wanting to come to a stop, my brake felt like nothing. i had no response or pressure, like i could push it all the way to the floor and the car wouldnt come to a complete stop. it just eventually stops but really slowly....does anybody know what the problem could be?

Do you have a leak in your hydraulic system?

With the car parked and engine one, depress the brake pedal several times...if it goes to the floor every time, with minimal resistance, you probably have a leak somewhere. Check under the car for brake fluid.

What he said...also, check for wet areas on your brake lines and on your master cylinder.
