I have a 2000 GSR and when I'm driving down the road my light on my dash that says BRAKE just comes on. My parking brake is all the way down so it's not engaged. Has anyone heard of this or has it happened to you? What can I do to fix it?

 

my friends teg did that. all i know is when he got it checked up for brakes the guy ajusted the hand brake, and the light never came on again when he was driving. only when he pulled the e-brake up (when its supposed to come on) i think it was a sensor or something i believe. maybe try going and having them look at it quick. fast job. hopes this helps.

That idiot light is dual function. One to tell you if the parking brake switch is tripped, and one to inform you of master cylinder fluid level/other brake problems...

Check your brake fluid level.
