when i took it to the exhaust shop they had said beside the fuel leak and couldnt do it, but dont blame them, but said wheel bearing was bad, would that affect the abs and make pedal hard or no?

Pull the ABS code like you would a CEL. That will tell you why the light is illuminated.

Yes, it is the same plug.

If it is leaking, you would expect for the pedal to sink when the brakes are applied. Have you checked your brake booster for functionality? The engine speed should increase slightly when the pedal is released and the car is idling. The bad booster could cause your hard pedal. The ABS codes may provide insight as well.

You are reading the ABS light? Are you sure it isn't code 61 for the front fail-safe relay?

The 94-97 (except ITR) and 98-01 brake lines are different.

Did the CEL blink at all to indicate that it was in diagnostic mode? You still read the ABS light for the ABS codes, but the CEL should respond as well.

abs could be triggered by a number of things....mine is on for a period of time then it stays off sometimes also, im not going to bother with mine because when it is on im just figuring you may not have the antilock brakes, which doesnt bother me, and i heard the price can get pretty high to fix that problem.......

If the diagnostic connector is jumpered correctly, having the key in the run position will have the CEL and SRS lamps illuminated and the ABS lamp not illuminated if there are no stored codes. If the diagnostic connector is not jumpered, the CEL and SRS lamps are not illuminated and the ABS lamp is illuminated.

The only way to clear the ABS codes is to disconnect the battery or disconnect the ABS fuses in the underhood box near the ABS modulator (assuming 94-97).

It is in your best interest to replace those lines.
