Default Block guard???

What's the thinking about add on block guards? I will be building my B18C1 motor to be good up to 250WHP. I wil start out NA and hope to get 180-190 WHP. I may end up boosting 6-8 psi with a Jackson Supercharger and get 220-230 WHP. Is a block guard even necessary?

If so, then do all block guards work the same? Are some better or worse than the next one? Which one is the best? Which is worst?

I have been told and read on this site over and over again that they are a waste.

250hp is not even close to needing any type of sleeve support.

you wont even need block guard at 250 whp... youll be fine with 8 psi or even 10 so dont go wasting ur money on things you dont need..
