Bit of Speculation !
well my Gf is going away on vacation so i'll have 1 whole month to just let loose on my car because no time with the gf = time with the teg. these are the plans
New rims+ tires
Custom Catback
4-2-1 Header
Crank Pulley
i can get really good deals on all this thing so dont tell me to save up for a turbo .. i just want a little more speed maybe hit low 15's peak a 14.9 or somthing .. anyway i was wondering about how much hp would i get on a 2k ls 5spd ? with them mods .. and about a 1/4 mile .. all estimates would be apreciated

hmm, well a stock gsr runs like 15.40's, and stock ls is running 16.10's etc.
To get to a 15 flat you are gonna need at least 40-50 hp, (30 to get to gsr and then extra)
It is gonna take a lot more than i/h/e to get that I do believe.
In my opinion, find another g/f for a month

You wanna go fast cheap?
STRIP! No not like that you freak... Gut the car. I've removed 150lbs weighed from my car. It flies now. It used to be slower than ****, but now its pretty quick. Ive pulled out the back seats, carpet, pillars, roofliners, trunkliners, spare tire and jack, spoiler, air-conditioner system, tons of useless plastic crap, heatsheilds, and some stuff that I dont even know what the **** it does
. Do it, its really fun and it will scare the crap out of your G/F.

Every little bit helps and it's free to do. If he doesn't feel any difference, then he can put it all back in.
"Play around with these calculations and you will soon discover an old racers adage: "To go faster, add lightness." Put another way, it is often easier to gain speed by taking away weight instead of adding horsepower. A rule of thumb amongst drag racers is that removing 200 lbs. will add 0.1 seconds to the 1/4 mile time. That is why when manufacturers come out with a serious racing version of a car, a weight loss program is part of the package. "
DUH!
removing 200 lbs. will add 0.1 seconds to the 1/4 mile time.
so youre saying that .075 seconds off your 1/4 mile time made your car change from hella slow to really quick???
No that was from their calulations from 25 cars. I was just showing that to show how WEIGHT affects a vehicles ultimate speed. And it's more like .5 if you do it all math cheif (not considering temp, r/t, pressure). Try it here: http://www.prestage.com/carmath/calc_etmph.asp
My stock weight was 2745, at crank hp of 142, new weight is 2595 at 142 just for the hell of it. Its MATH so it's not wrong.Oh ****:
http://www.howstuffworks.com/first-t...orsepower3.htm
So take my 142/2595 and you get: .0547
Then take 142/2745 and you get: .0517
Obviously the first one, the LIGHTER one is faster, damn this is sad that I have to explain this to a veteran member...

stop making a fool out of yourself.seriously.
Hahahaha OMG dont go crazy! BTW the ammount of power it would take to be equal with the ammount of weight removed is 8 horsepower. Calulated from the 142/2595 and then multiplying by the other (2745) and taking the difference. Or you can do it 142/2745 divided by the latter and so on.
How much money do you think 8 HP costs?

Thats at the crank becasue the original calulation was from the crank HP. Not at the wheels. I dont feel like caclulating my drivetrain loss right now but if I spend 15 mins with the apexi-rsm I can tell you my exact drivetrain loss, but that would only be for the stripped weight. And this is getting childish anyway.
Do it, its really fun and it will scare the crap out of your G/F.
