Which is better to get first?
both will make minimal gains and more noise which makes you think you picked up a lot of power. real power is in some cams, nos, or a turbo.
but for your sake, you will probobly be happier at first w/ the aem. the sound is really addicting and you cant hear it as well w/ an exhaust. so get the aem first, imo.

if you use those choices, do it in this order:

you'll be happier with the intake. but, you don't even need an AEM to get the same effects and noise. i made my own using the teg tips on http://www.g2ic.com

Get an intake like the Comptech Icebox, then drive it for 6 months and get a better suspension.
Then do header/exhaust to make it breath. The header/exhaust is where the real transient response gains can be felt.
