best choice
My friend wants to get some lowering coilovers but is having trouble deciding on which ones to get. he has a budget of about $300 and can not find anything besides ebay coilovers. and he doesnt want to do that because he doesnt trust ebay.
Does he want the ability to adjust the height, or would a spring that lowers to a decent height be good enough for him? $300 can purchase a nice set of springs from Eibach, Neuspeed, H&R, or similar, but then the stock shocks won't be able to dampen the higher spring rates, at least not for long.
If he wants adjustability, search for ground controls, and I recommend nothing but Koni yellows for shocks in the (cost effective) range. Use the search button, this has been covered many times.

I agree with Sam92Teg.
Also, if your buddy doesn't seem like he has enough money for a good setup, then just wait. Don't waste money on buying junk and having to spend more money and time later on replacing what you previously purchased.
Also, don't forget to include/budget money for an alignment after the suspension install. And it is not a bad idea to replace related bushings and bolts if need be.
