Default battery relocation problem

i recently relocated my battery to the trunk of my da. when i did it the first time it wouldnt start but i could push start it. so i put a new starter and battery thinking that was the problem. but it wasnt. so i put everything back in the factory possition, then everything worked. so i figured it out that it was a ground problem. i had a ground from battery to chasis then from chasis to tranny bracket. that didnt create conduct enough. so i ran a 4 gauge ground wire from battery to front tranny bracket. i am running 0 gauge for power and 4 gauge ground. now the car runs, but then my alternator blew up after a week of running. was it a bad alternator or a screw up w/ the relocation? thanks for any helpful comments

i would try a new alternator and it if blows again then you are giving it too much power

when my friend and i relocated his we ran the wire from the trunk up to the starter and then directly placed the wire from the fuse box on the starter as well and it is running great

it could be the ground cabe on the alternator, my friend had a similar problem so, if and when you replace the alternator and it goes out again it could be that ground cable.

make sure the connections from the battery to the alt are good or you gonna blow up the alternater again. your battery acts like a stabilized for the alternator. your car may run with just an alternator but will mess the alternator up.

why are you relocating your battery anyways?

the battery takes up a huge ammount of space in the DA engine bay, it looks much better without it, and give you room for ignition parts, etc...

well i put it in. damn it sux but now everything is running good. if it blows up again how long do you think it will take to do so? and also could a too tight of a belt cause the alternator to blow? b/c i just put a new belt on like a month ago and it was tight as hell (like took 2 of us to get on), now the new one went right on w/ no real hard force. and the engine bay LOOKs sooo much better w/out the battery being all up in the way!!

[your car may run with just an alternator but will mess the alternator up.]

I beg to differ, I have ran my car without a battery, I did not have any problems with the altenator. About the wire being loose on the connection, I don't think it will do any damage, It will most likely arc from a poor connection. A little sand paper to roughen the surface up will help to get a better connection.
Correct me if I am wrong.
