I was actually thinking of doing the same thing. I'd like to get that clean engine bay look, but I'm kinda afraid to move the battery that far.

If I get an Optima Leak Proof batter, mount it, and use 2 guage wire from the front to the battery.....what else do I need to do? Can I just ground the battery to a good chasis ground and thats it? I've heard that you need to double ground the battery? Whats up with that?

Make sure you put a fuse as close to the battery as possible. At least 50AMP, but no more that 90.
