So, i pull out of a gas station and wasing gently accelerating through 1st when the car just started reving as if i was in neutral even though it was still in 1st. I pull over and couldnt get it moving after. Oil was coming from where the axles go in the tranny. If i put the car in gear and give it gas, the speedo would rise but car goes no where. I was told my lsd messed up...I bought a jdm type r lsd from jdmland.com.

Any ideas why this would fail on me?

 

Is the lsd currently in there the jdm type r lsd?
Or did you buy a new type r lsd to replace it.

Reasons for messing up could be something like improper install, or something like that.. Usually theyre pretty durable.

 

Your axle most likely popped out of the differential. Since the speedometer is indicating a speed, the differential is turning. The helical ITR LSD acts like an open differential when one wheel has zero traction.

This definitely sounds like the axle popped out. You may want to replace the set ring for the axle. Hopefully the axle seal was not damaged.
