Bad Ignition Switch?
So my '95 GS-R decided it doesn't like it when I let off the key and the engine shuts right off as do the dashboard lights (check engine, low oil, etc). It also shut itself off while I was driving - no engine power or dashboard indicators.
All the idiot lights turn on as I move into the Start position, though. I hear the fuel pump working as it should, all the electrical stuff (radio and lights) work as they should, and the engine starts as it should but the it dies as soon as I let off the key. Everything else looks as it should under the hood as well.
So, before I drop the cash, am I right in saying that my ignition switch is toast?

Have you checked the ignition coil resistance after you put it in the fridge for a bit of cooling? Mine won't start because of a bad coil, not the switch.
I haven't and that might be hard because I don't have a multimeter with me. The engine starts up fine and it runs normally if I hold the key, it just dies if I let go.
i just replaced mine having the same problems and the new switch was like $60 from autozone. But how i figured mine was bad, is that if i hold it like i was starting the car and when i let it go it would just off. Its easy to fix, just simple hand tools and if you need help PM me.
