when i shift from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to third my car backfires...."POP" sometimes its loud..sometimes its not...it never does it when im just driving and have my foot on the gas...i have an exhaust leak somewhere around the resonator i think..also..when i down shift my exhaust makes this gurgling noise...almost like a gt mustang...kinda weird...i have straight pipe..so maybe thats why its doin all of this...but just seeing if u guys have any idea why its doin this
I was just gonna ask if you had a test pipe. The lack of a CAT makes for a very straight through system and pops, back fires, and even flames are common. Nothing to worry about as long as the car is running normal
Check the rotor on the distributor, my car was shooting flames out of the exhaust because the rotor was chewed. I had header, high flow cat, and cat back as well.
