the ls engines handle turbo pretty well and they are pretty cheap.
gsr will give you more power overall, alot more you can do with the motor.
dont know much about the b16 i hear its a under rated motor. but if u do go with the b16 and turbo it, i would get a ls or gsr tranny.

like i said its a 90 ls integra so it already has the ls tranny. i know ultimately i will put in a b18c1 and turbo that but for now just to have some decent power to start and to have vtec im leaning towards a b16 turbo. the motors are cheap so if i blow it not a big deal, anyway the car is completely stock and im getting it in 4 hours yay! been looking all over for suspension wheels motor mounts sucks cuz its been so long i dont know where to look for stuff and i know its all here so ill do my research lol. seen too many posts on here where people get reamed for asking where to buy stuff, but i would like to know if you guys recommend any shops in southern cali to do the turbo. i can put in whatever motor i decide on but when it comes to turbo and tapping lines and stuff i have no clue and the shop that used to do my stuff went out of business, thanks again for all of your input
Why would you turbo a VTEC engine? How are you going to buy a longblock and turbo it for $2500 total?
You spend $1500+ on a GSR engine. Around $500 for suspencion. Another $500-$600 for a set of wheels. Is there any room for engine mounts left?

so im kinda leaning towards b20 now, only $500 for a low mileage motor and can bolt right in with all the ls stuff, then boost, this shop is claiming over 240 hp to the wheels with turbo they instal and tune for $1000 http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/pts/2000713922.html

yeah its tough to be patient, been 7 years since i had anything decent, i guess if i was going to be patient i would do a gsr swap, rock that for a couple months then turbo, i know that would last and be sweet with boost, and no i didnt see the jk in the white text

thanks man, overwhelming, ive been online all day searching specs and prices, think i know less now than when i started, my head is spinning, only thing i dont like about the b20 is that is doesnt rev as high as the b18 and no oil squirters but motor is cheap so i can blow it once every couple months and get away with it lol(to my knowledge maybe it does rev high but it is a suv motor lol)

I put together a b20 vtec out of spare parts a couple years back. b20 block, b16 head, and jdm itr transmission. reved it to 8600 rpm all day long with no problems. It lasted about 20+ hours of track time. Constant high revving and such until the lma's went out and an exhuat valve fragged. I wouldnt condone the b20 though as the cylinder walls are extremely thin and prone to cracking. B18c1 is a much more reliable base.
he thinks its a joke telling me the manifold that he wants just by itself is $700 what do u think
Those kits could be similar to the ones that you can find on ebay. I worked with a guy that had a d16z6 motor with one of the turbo kits from ebay, he upgraded some of the parts that came with the kit to better ones.

im kinda rusty on my trans swaps but i think the civic si trans will give you the closer ratio then the gsr. i thought you can get lsd for pretty much anything. of course nice tires and at least springs
this is what id do for cost affectiveness, turbo: build stock engine for the turbo and stick lsd in stock trans
na: 99ish gsr engine build it a bit, 99 si trans with lsd
or......replace the gasket and buy a bike lol

crashed my turbo b16 rex 7 years ago, i know this girl that blew a head gasket in her 90 teg she just sold it to me for $400. gonna ask the age old question of "what would u do?" lol im gonna fix the gasket and get it smogged. then i got about $2500 to put into it, do i get a b18c1 engine, use this tranny(ls) and hold off for turbo, or do i get a b16 for $650 and turbo that or get a new low mile LS engine and turbo that, thanks guys, just want to beat my friends mazdaspeed with a car that costs a 10th of his
i would kill myself on a bike and out here in cali i get cut off and almost hit in my car on the regular so if people cant see me in a car imagine a bike, but i do love crotch rockets, cant stand harleys, just make noise and dont move. when i had my crx b16 my dad had a honda davidson(like honda shadow some bike tryin to be a harley) and it wasnt even close. anyway, yeah im pretty set on b20 or b18a or b18b(the 18b has more power i think just got to change dizzy cuz its obdi) and then im gonna take this blown head gasket stock motor and try to build it myself just for fun. but if there is anyway i can make this tranny lsd i would do it in a heart beat
my wish is your command lol
