b20 in a da questions
My bro in law blew up his motor last summer and the car has been sitting in the driveway collecting alot of dust and snow. The car has no crazy rust just surface bubbles which is no big deal. The interior is dirty but some what mint with black leather seats. Well what im asking is im planning to buy it off him for super super cheap. Im planning on replacing the b18 with a b20 but i want to know if any b20 will be a direct bolt on or do i have to change the ecu or harness. Also I found some b20 engines for cheap an tiger japanese and one has a long intake manifold and the other a short intake manifold whats the difference? Well thanks for reading this and hope you guys can help me out thank you for your time.
Use the stock LS intake manifold w/ injectors, etc. as well as stock LS distributor and DA driver's side engine mount bracket that bolts to the block. From there everything will be just like stock.
For the ECU, your LS ECU will "run" the engine, but be rather lean. I'd suggest either having your ECU chipped with B20 maps, or purchase a chipped p06/Pr4 ecu with B20 maps. (note that depending on what year 90-91 or 92-93 will determine what ECU you need OBD0 or OBD1)

B18 onto the B20 and run wiring from that switch to the thermostat housing. On the B20 there is a plug in for you to plug the wiring into. Also you have to block off one of the coolant fittings on the FIT valve. Basically you will have to swap alot of the B18 parts onto the B20. I am running my stock ECU and my car runs fine. I have put about 2,000 miles on the swap.
