Default B20 in a DA?

friend of mine needs a new motor in his 90 ls. Rather than go with a b18b1, why not use a b20 block? he has a mild turbo setup, so I figure the 2.0 would yield more power. How involved is this setup? does there need to be motor mount modification, or is it a drop-in deal? would the compression rise if I keep the b18 head? would this be a good way to go, or hsould I just stick with a 1.8?

Yes u can use both the b18b and b20's. They will require some wiring, since your 1990 integra is OBD0 and the new b18b/b20 are either obd1/obd2. Other than that its a drop in. Your stock mounts will work, but u MUST keep ur LS tranny, since the newer b18b/b20 tranny's are Hydro and yours is cable. B20+ turbo is a sexy setup, but so is b18b turbo. Find out where u can find a cheap longblock and go from there

if you're going to use the b20 block I HIGLY recommend you resleeve the cylinder sleeves since they are very thin to begin with.

If I do go with a b20, would it be a good idea to keep the b20 head or put on the old b18 one?

yeah but you have to understand that the b20 cylinder wall is VERY thin. it doesn't take that much boost to throw a rod out or put a hole in the block. Resleeve the block and you will will be fine. The blockguard is a temporary band aid for a big and expensive problem to happen. I wouldn't be too concern if you where planning to run it NA and not under boost.
