b18c1 rev limiter problem
Ok first off I wanna say excuse my ignorance.... I'm a prelude guy and I'm just posting in this forum for my buddy who recently did a b18c1 swap into his 95 civic.
He is having problems with revving... it's almost like the rev limiter is set at 3500 rpm. He is throwing a CEL and when we checked it... it said crank position sensor air intake and an O2 sensor. He put in the new crank position sensor...checked it again... and it said just the O2 sensor... changed that... still had the CEL. Checked it again... and it's throwing codes from both of them again.
I was just wondering what you guys suggest for him to do or what you think his problem might be.
Thanks.

Sounds like its in "Safe Mode". When the ECU see's certain errors it wont let the driver rev too high to protect the engine. Try clearing the ECU by unpowering it. There maybe new codes now that you need to address.
