B18C1 oil problem!
Ok i just got my first b18c1 GSR after 5 years of driving a variety of LS integras. It burns oil like crazy, and today, upon filling it up (Im NOT putting too much in), it took 3 minutes of cranking to start it, and it sputters so bad it barely runs. I pulled out the no 3 plug and the inside of the cylinder is full of oil and alot of sludge. And now it smokes really bad idling. Its obviously leaking alot of oil into the cylinder. So do i need rings? If anyone answers please be nice, im no noob to hondas but ive never done any engine internal repairs. Im gonna go pull out the other plugs now.
if not the rings or valve seals check the valve cover gasket and cylinder gaskets. I had this problem though not as severe. never hurts to do the compression test either.
rings guides and seals
you have a low compression condition and i can almost guarantee it. valve seals often get pointed at on here when they are only a small part of the problem. loose guides will kills seals with a quickness and the b18c is famous for toasting rings if the car is driven hard
