b18b1 To Vtec
Ok i Have a b18b1 engine at. But i want it to be vtec so what would i have to do to make this happen. I dont want to get a new engine because the engine only has 65,000 miles. Can i just buy the head of a vtec and will that work plz help
at 65,000 you don't need a new block, unless you have some how cracked it already...there is a Search button on the top right hand corner of this page, type in LSV or LS Vtech, that what you're trying to do, this is very common now...And to anwser your question, yes it can be done using a B16 head or a B18C1(GSR) or B18C5 (Type R)...please search, this question gets asked like 10 time a week, it becomes annoying
you need a vtec head. you need a vtec ecu you need a new oil pump water pump you need a new timing belt you need new head studs and golden eagle makes an ls vtec kit you will need that or something similar. you need to do some research because if you don't do it right you will not have a dependable car... my advice is to make sure you know what you're getting into long before you start and make sure you have all the parts you need and have some extra money for any unexpected purchases.
i've got a b18c1 head for salw with 4k miles on it. i also have a gsr intake manifold and a gsr ecu. they are just sitting in my garage taking up space. pm me if your interested.
